Established in May 1998, Planned Parenthood Votes! Rhode
Island is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to protecting
and expanding individual rights to reproductive choice, and
access to family planning for all men and women.
Its purpose is to develop a social and political climate
in Rhode Island that is favorable to reproductive choice.
VOTES! is educating Rhode Island constituents about reproductive
health issues and lobbying state and federal elected officials.
VOTES! is also engaged in electoral activity, including voter
education on reproductive rights issues, evaluation of candidates'
positions, pro-choice voter turnout, and distribution of voter
guides.
VOTES! publishes a “Primary
Day Pro-Choice Voter Guide” and an “Election
Day Pro-Choice Voter Guide” which defines for voters
the public policy positions of candidates running for federal
and statewide office.
The VOTES! PAC is a non-partisan political action committee
that advocates for pro-choice, pro-family planning candidates
running for statewide and General Assembly office in Rhode
Island. These candidates support policies that improve reproductive
health services for women and families, and protect their
privacy.
