PPRI and PPFA maintain separate programs
and budgets, so a gift to PPFA - the national organization
- does not impact programs and services in Rhode Island.
All of the Planned Parenthood programs and services
in Rhode Island, including reproductive health care
services, sexuality education, and community affairs
and information, are conducted by PPRI. The national
organization, PPFA, has 134 affiliates nationwide. PPRI
is the Rhode Island affiliate.
PPFA works nationally to plan national strategies;
provide technical assistance to affiliates; prepare
educational, medical and advocacy materials that can
be used by affiliates; develop and enforce high standards
for reproductive health services delivered by affiliates;
and serve as liaison with national media.
Your support of PPRI enables us to provide services
to people in Rhode Island.

Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island is a 501(c)(3) organization,
which is an IRS tax designation. This means that we are tax-exempt,
and are unable to engage in activities that directly support
a political candidate or participate in political lobbying.
PPRI does maintain a separate organization that is a 501(c)(4)
organization called Planned Parenthood VOTES! Rhode Island
(PPVRI). Gifts to the political action committee (PAC) of
PPVRI allow PPRI to do the direct work that can ensure the
protection of abortion and contraceptive rights in the local
and state political arenas. Become
