The goal of the Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island (PPRI) Education and Training Programs for teens and adults is to promote healthy relationships and responsible sexual choices. We present healthy options, promote informed choices and raise awareness of the risks for unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. For teens we emphasize the advantages of abstinence and promote delaying the age of first intercourse.

The Education Department offers a wide range of trainings for teens, parents, professional educators and youth workers. Workshops are conducted by PPRI education staff, who may be assisted by trained peer educators. Education Programs are $100 per hour.*

PPRI has developed an essential four-workshop educational series based on "best practices" models. Best practices are derived from programs that effectively produce the desired outcomes, such as offering multiple educational sessions and using a variety of learning activities. Workshop topics are tailored to the needs of specific audiences.

The PPRI Education staff will be happy to discuss your training needs. Please contact the Education programs Manger at (401) 421-7820 ext 3117.

In planning a training, keep these factors in mind:

  • The recommended audience size is 18 - 25 participants.
  • Requests for training should be made 6 weeks in advance.
  • All workshops are available for presentation in Spanish.

*This is the standard fee. However, special fees may be considered based upon documented financial need.
